On Jason Maxwell:
Posted on: Aug 29 2005, 04:01 PM
I would like to encourage everyone to write artistic pieces created in honor of fellow kishors/yuvas. To begin, i would like to post my Ode to Jason Maxwell: Part 1.
Jason...this is for you.
O jason,
You're such a mason,
You make my heart go racin',
and my head 'a-crazin
You smell of heaven to the max,
with a faint misty lingering of sexy axe,
You are probably the most enlightened,
When I am near you my day is always brightened,
Without you, my heart has a montana-sized hole,
and wordly enjoyments begin to deface my soul,
O, you masterly creation,
lead me unto the path of liberation,
I worship your godly form,
YOu are my port...in a storm
When people start to talk crap,
You know i will always bust a cap.............. for you, my gangsta beau
On the planned collaborative Kishors.org “What is an ashram?” essay:

I have to say that i give overwhelming support to Kate's idea. This sounds like a great retreat topic. maybe we could disscuss all this during the retreat and then work on the project during the second semester of school. like kate, this paper would be on my already offensive "to do" list. ~kat
(In response to Kate Zipin’s post: “think this would be a great part of a retreat. i think we all want to create a paper that is quality and isn't "a chore" to do during school. for me, at least, it would be on a to-do list, and i resent things that are on to-do lists.
i think if we all collaborated and got together, discussed the questions, the angles, SMA and Ganeshpuri, etc. then we would have gotten away all the surface, outter stuff and also gotten a lot of perspective to be able to write a 40-page essay. i don't think, unless we have super-willing people, that we should write individual essays, but if we collaborate AFTER we have discussed, then the quality is almost assured- we have put time and energy into it, honored it.”)
On bathrubs, Radhika, and her master and commander:
Posted on: Sep 3 2005, 11:55 PM
Tommy, you can join me in my bathtub anytime. IN FACT, ANYONE CAN. except for you, radhika. you're just creepy. i would like to extend a special invitation to my master and commander...
CHUCK NORRIS!
bwahahahha, betcha thought i was talking about you, huh, jason! yeah, that's right...IGNORE ME! RUN! HIDE! TAKE OUT YOU'RE LITTLE "RESTRAINING ORDER"! WHATEVER, MAN, YOU'LL BE MINE SOON ENOUGH!
…btw, radhika, i don't really think you're that creepy.
On Radhika Lishansky:
Posted on: Sep 5 2005, 05:23 PM
Perhaps her lymeric skills require some polishing, but you are forgettin one thing my friends...it had the word 'kat' in there twice! that's fricken amazing. your intention has been well recieved, radhika dearest.
Dearest Radhika,
friend to the Naticas (Any one of numerous species of marine gastropods that burrow beneath the sand, or mud, and drill other shells),
You fight against evil and breed good luck,
although you're lymerics really do suck.
Your kindness is notorious,
and you're blond hair truly glorious,
To be your friend is to be under your protection,
Though you certainly must realize that i am the object of jason's affection (not you).
You and Jesus are one in the same,
though compared to you, he is quite lame (no offense, homeboy),
And though you may live at Whits End,
there is no one else I would rather befriend (except maybe chuck norris).
lots of love, radhika
On Kate Zipin’s trip to ecuador:
Posted on: Sep 7 2005, 09:42 PM
Kate.
The adventure you are about to embark on is far to big to dress up in fanciful words and clever phrases. Know that I will miss you terribly, but at the same time my heart is overflowing with joy and excitement for you. I know this will be an incredible experience. I hope that you stay in the present and experience every moment.
I am going to send you serious love vibes through this post... close you're eyes for a second and recieve them.
Okay, I sent them. Just by reading this you're getting my blessings! I know that everyone else is sending them too. When you come back, we're going to rent a beach house and have a week-long party with all the kishor/yuvas! party on.
Posted on: Sep 8 2005, 08:05 PM
kate, be fearless.
On Vibhu Norby’s trip to India:
Posted on: Sep 8 2005, 08:04 PM
Vibhu. Like Kate, you are about to embark on a road less traveled. I'm so inspired by your (seemingly) fearlessness. I hope that you're open to all new experiences and find everything you're looking for. I'm proud to know you.
So, close you're eyes dammit and recieve my blessings.
Okay, you've just recieved mega blessings, whether you wanted them or not.
On the location of the winter retreat in 2005:
Posted on: Sep 8 2005, 11:35 PM
since i know you're all just DYING to know what I think ... Meditation retreat sounds awesome. unfortunately i can't speak for either boston or ny, but i think that boston would be a better bet. there's lodgings and a very supporting center. we might even be able to stay at the gurukula (this really awesome mansion owned by I THINK the boston center or the ashram). anyway, if boston people were able to confirm our suspicions then we could get underway on the planning process. i'm in.
On her favorite Siddha Yoga practice:
Posted on: Sep 14 2005, 10:19 AM
i love it all! but you know what... because i have such a hard time with meditation i think it's the thing i have to work the most on. Chanting is extremely high on the list because it puts me into sucha great meditation afterward. I feel really connected. On the other hand, seva is just so awesome. like vibhu, i like being able to see on the physical plane what i have done to help the mission. of course, there's a lot of "I's" in that sentence, and seva is supposed to be a selfless service... so i don't know. I'd have to say i'm a pretty general yogi.
On making a card for Gurumayi for the new year and Chelsea Maxwell:
Posted on: Oct 24 2005, 09:44 PM
i think that for the new years satsang we should tell people to wear clothing they don't mind getting dirty...INTERESTED??? put those nasty thoughts back in your head, tommy. okay, so we hang huge pieces of paper or canvas or whatever on the walls and we have a huge paint fest. people can do whatever they want and we can make a huge card for gurmayi for new years.
not very realistic, but i'm basically trying to get people to start the process! come on, minions. btw, mallika, ever notice how you don't use periods, only exclamation points? you occasionally use the ..., but i don't think you've used one period on this entire page. very interesting.
edit: o wait, i just found one in your first post. ONE in your first post. i admire your optimism, or manic enthusiasm. i can't decide.
edit2: check that, i just found a second one. so basically my point has met a humiliating demise, whatever my point was in the first place. it was more of an observation really...
...i still say you're too happy.
On Tommy Morello:
Posted on: Nov 9 2005, 10:39 PM
I love how you all make fun of your posts after you write them, trying to make them seem unimportant and offhand when really we all spend hours, nay, days carefully composing our next messege so as to project the right image of ourselves...
or is that just me...
anyway, THIS IS FOR YOU, TOMMY! IT'S ALL YOU, BABY!
Yo tommy,
try and stop me,
from rappin about you,
cuz u is my beu,
You're golden hair brought me to a standstill,
and i know there's lots of babes who would kill,
to be in your safe and lovin arms,
like a chicken in a barn,
and plus, you always pick up the bill. (okay, perhaps that's stretching it)
So while other people may be talking slander,
rest assured, you are my master and commander,
I got nothin to say after this,
except being your friend is bliss,
so give us all a kiss cuz you're pretty fly for a white guy.
Hit me.
On a picture of the Himalayas:
Posted on: Nov 12 2005, 11:38 PM
dude, that picture of u in the himalayas...
wow.
that's really all i can say.
except for that last sentence.
and, yeah, that last one too, and this one.
On the New Year’s Message for 2006, specifically its third time around:
Posted on: Nov 12 2005, 11:44 PM
i agree. i mean, this is what it's all about, isn't it? It's about being completely in touch with the true Self. It's about being strong and able to draw all you ever need from within yourself. imagine if we completely loved ourselves? we would never feel inadequate, jelouse, empty, disconnected. damn, i want that so bad.
On Kat’s “spiritual name”:
Posted on: Nov 13 2005, 08:11 PM
Mine is Shree. I was given it at the palm springs retreat when i was, like, four or five. I was too shy to actually ask gurumayi so i asked one of the swamis to ask her for me when we were at darshan one day, and she wrote me a little note with "shree" on it.
On Omi Naderi and Kashi Gomez:
Posted on: Nov 13 2005, 08:18 PM
haha, omi, you're awesome. i should write a poem about you.
KASHI: it sucks because i can't greet you properly without everyone thinking i'm just joining the band wagon! but know this...kashi (gomez?)...I am extending an honest and heartfelt hello (even though i have absolutely no right to do so considering i'm a fairly new member). what's you're email? i don't really do the whole i.m. or myspace or even much email, but for you... i'll make an exception.
On Kashi and defeating the Vibhu demon:

I pay homage to the terrible power of the Kashi, who defeated the Vibhu demon with two birds, who combined their power to throw one stone of destiny...
On profoundness and cookies:

GUYS! kashi is trying to say something profound and all you can think about is cookies!
i like the ones with butterscotch and white chocolate chips...
On her sixteenth birthday, womanhood, and her best birthday:
Posted on: Nov 16 2005, 10:24 AM
you wanna know what's up? MY SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY IS IN TWO WEEKS. that's what's up. isn't this supposed to be something big??! why doesn't it feel that way! it feels like a regular birthday except everyone is pressuring me to have a big party where i get to flaunt the fact that a- i'm not old enough to drive b- i'm not old enough to vote c- i'm not old enough to drink and d- i don't look so good in a party dress. I haven't felt this kind of pressure since i was in high school! ( for those of you who don't know, i don't go to school) even my father is like, "come on, let's have a huge formal party so i can show that i have fulfilled my parental obligation for acknowledging your transition into womanhood." WOMANHOOD! WHO SAYS THAT??? now don't get me wrong, i love to party, but this is absolutely ridiculous. my womanhood? that's just creepy. my idea of the best birthday would be all of my loved ones coming to visit me in NYC and we go out and have good clean fun just hanging out appreciating life, topped off by a trip to coldstone ice cream and a dash of public vandilization. ALL THIS BIRTHDAY MEANS IS THAT I AM ONE YEAR CLOSER TO MY DEATH! i better get some flippin good presents. or maybe i'll just bully my family into getting tattoos.
On Rakhi Trust and Calling Mallika (Chelsea Maxwell):
Posted on: Nov 23 2005, 12:43 PM
PLEASE tell Rakhi hi for me. tell her, "kat gives you super duper love"
and don't forget. if you do, i'll know...
and i'll find you...
MALLIKA. call me, my family is supposed to be helping with the retreat but we've gotten no info.
On the mysterious new Buddha in Nepal:

jelous, Vibhu? haha
that's amazing, but do you think it's true?

Posted on: Nov 30 2005, 10:50 PM
why must you always kill everyone else's posts by putting up something so terribly kind and interesting that the rest of us sound boring and insincere?
On Kat’s birthday wishes from the community:
Posted on: Dec 2 2005, 09:28 PM
awwwwwwww, you guys, you shouldn't have.
for my birthday my family and i went and saw a play i thought very fitting for a sixteenth birthday... it was called "sweeny todd" and it's about a barber that kills people while he's shaving them and gives them to his landlady to bake into pies, which all of london eats.
very fitting indeed
On the spelling of a donut "rapper":
Posted on: Dec 16 2005, 03:43 PM
dude, come on
the guys a doughnut. donut? doneut? doughnet? how the heck do you spell it.
On her future plans:
Posted on: Dec 16 2005, 03:57 PM
you sillies, you don't even have a plan. I on the other hand have formulated the most perfect, foolproof plan to achieve ultimate delight and happiness.
1. marry the man who owns starbucks.
2. have him put me in his will.
3. kill him. i'm thinking the ol' "broken glass in the food" gag and plant a broken glass in the cook's trunk...
4. take all of his trillions and trillions of dollars (and delightful beverages and baked goods) and skip town. to new zealand.
5. win over the government in new zealand with my unparalleled power and influence and delightful beverages and baked goods (and my exceptional good looks)
6. have them grant me all of new zealand in thanks for introducing them to "pumpkin spice latte"
7. recreate middle earth as seen in Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings"
8. Kidnap all the characters from the above movie and perform plastic surgery on them to have pointed ears, hobbit feet, and orc bodies where necessary.
9. go on a quest to find the one ring.
THIS IS MY DREAM... soon to be reality. i dunno if any of you are allowed to come to my middle earth empire. i'll think about it.
On Swami Sevananda:
Posted on: Jan 7 2006, 01:56 AM
i am a huge sevananda fan. we went to this tabla concert once, and he just randomly starts singing to the performers in hindi. it was so sweet, him and the performers started laughing and singing to each other.
On “spring is in the air”:
Posted on: Mar 8 2006, 11:00 PM
i hate spring. and woodland animals.
i'd rather sit here in my tortured abyss.
black.
like my heart.
like my mood.
that poem was entitled "ryan cabrera makes me want to hurt people"
On attempting to be come “emo”:
Posted on: Mar 8 2006, 11:05 PM
darn, you know, i'm trying this new emo stuff but it totally isn't working out for me. my black fingernail polish keeps chipping in all the wrong places (like into my banana cake with cream cheese frosting with crumbled walnuts) and the little hair thing where it covers one eye? so annoying, my eyelid is, like, chaffing. and i can't breathe in the tight pants and, i'm sorry, but telling people that "my heart has shattered into a thousand pieces" just sounds stupid. It's stupid! that's what it is!
that is what it is.
On Laura Zipin’s birthday:
Posted on: Mar 21 2006, 03:45 PM
yes yes, salutations, dear friend. i hope you had the best birthday ever.
On mandatory military service:
Posted on: Jun 12 2006, 09:56 PM
Even though I'm generally a pacifist, I have to say that I do flirt with actually admiring the notion of mandatory military service. Most countries have it, like a two year term where they train and support their country in that way. It is SO easy to critisize (spelled wrong?) the military, but i really think that two years of intense discipline and forced comradery would really be a humbling experience for people. I'm totally liberal, but i really getted pissed when people pass judgement on other people entering the military, calling them ignorant hick supporters of evil. a) the military provides a decent education, even if it is biased, you work hard. physically. you bust your butt, something a lot of the new generation just doesn't get. c) you stop thinking of only yourself and identify with a team. you're constantly yelled at and treated like crap. THIS IS GOOD FOR PEOPLE, we're so self important. d) you learn what shear survival feels like. it's such a primitive and rudimentary feeling. because the need for physical survival in america has all but vanished, we are now occupied with battles of the mind (DRAMA). this dissapears when all you have time to think about is survival.
I don't like fighting for something i don't believe in, but i don't see anything wrong with going through the training. i really think it's good for you. and if the draft comes, i want the women to be ENCOURAGED to join as well. perhaps they have other obligations, but i definitely want them included in some way. i'm sorry, you can't ask for equality and then ignore it when you want to.
